Welcome to the Lake Groton
Association web site. This site is designed to
provide information for residents and visitors to
Lake Groton (historically known as Groton Pond) in
Groton, Vermont.

Boat Launch Public Hearing A public
meeting has been set for Friday, September 3rd,
at 3 p.m. to discuss the Agency of Natural
Resources’ plans to create a public boat access
on Lake Groton. The meeting is open to the
general public and will be held at the Groton
Nature Center on Boulder Beach Road in
Groton State Forest.

North End Loon chick born July 13th - the
nest is by the Hosmer Brook inlet and the loon
parents and chick may be there or on the lake.
Watch for them and please keep
your distance and do not try to get close. See
picture to the right.. Also chick at south end
- please keep distance to observe.

Bob O'Grady - Groton Pond Invitational Golf
Tournament. Monday, August 2nd has been
cancelled.

4th Boat Parade Winners!
The Overall Winner: the Spencer Camp. The
Harold Puffer Most Patriotic Boat: the Cirone
Camp "Red Cross". The Most Creative Boat:
the Maloney Camp. Honorable Mention:
The Concannon Camp. Best Decorated Shore
Line: Edson Camp.
The Forest Country Store donated prizes
for the overall winner,
Runner-up (Concanon Camp) received a gift
certificate for a Pizza and Drink donated by
Bill Kane of the Upper Valley Grill and General
Store, and the DuBois Family
presented a gift basket to the best decorated
shore display. Click

Bulky Waste drop off is now
offered as a standard service at the
Groton/Ryegate Recycling Center during their
normal hours of operation. (If not convenient
for you, please inform them & exceptions can be
made). There will no longer be Bulky Waste Days
in Groton and Ryegate. For more information, see
the
Recycling Information.
